Intypo Plugin is WordPress 2 compatible

Darius 10.42 Uhr Filed under: Intypo

I have not tested it yet, but somebody else has added my Intypo plugin to Matt’s list of WP 2 plugin compatibility, so probably it will work with the upcoming WordPress version.

Update: This blog is now running WordPress 2.0 with the Intypo plugin.

  1. i can hereby confirm that intypo 0.6.1 works well on wordpress 2.0

    here are the hungarian comma definitions:

    $ity_quot[8] = array('„','”','«','»'); # Hungarian commas

  2. Thank you for that confirmation.

    I will add the Hungarian marks and other single country styles in the next release. Until then, if you need quotation marks not yet included in Intypo, simply add the line mentioned by Endre (or similar code for your language) to the php code of my plugin. It’s really easy to find the right place for it.

  3. I‹ve noticed, that the Intypo-Plugin doesn’t filter comments. I added following line at the end of intypo.php:

    [..]
    add_filter('comment_text','ity_filter_content');
    [..]

    Maybe it would be nice to choose from the admin menu, if comment filtering is done, or not?

  4. Eine schöne Erweiterung wäre die Möglichkeit, die Art der Anführungszeichen im Posting direkt ändern zu können, falls ich z.B. ein Zitat in englisch einfügen möchte:

    English BlahDeutsches Blah

    Yes, I think that’s a good idea. There should be checkboxes that let you decide which parts of the pages are affected by Intypo: the title, the main text, the excerpt, the comments…

    @Latz
    And yes, this blog itself is an example, that typography of different languages may be needed in a single blog. I think it would be best if future Intypo versions respect the lang tag (from HTML 4) and the xml:lang tag (from XHTML 2). See HTML 4 specification:

    Some situations where author-supplied language information may be helpful include:
    […]
    * Helping a user agent select glyph variants for high quality typography
    * Helping a user agent choose a set of quotation marks
    […]

    Look here for more information about my plans for future releases.

  6. The code suggested by Endre and Andreas is now included in the new release Intypo 0.6.2.

    The other proposals require a lot more work. See ideas for future versions.
